Family Support and Navigation
A dedicated support line and intake process where families affected by gun violence can call one number and be connected to everything they need. A family navigator works with them one on one to coordinate services, referrals, and follow-up so they never have to figure it out alone.
Grief and Healing Counselling Program
Partnerships with licensed counsellors and therapists to provide grief counselling, trauma support, and mental health referrals for individuals and families. This includes group support circles where families can connect with others who understand what they're going through.
Youth and Teen Violence Prevention Program
Community-based outreach and mentorship programs designed to reach young people before violence happens. This includes workshops, life skills programming, and safe spaces for youth and teens to build positive connections and find alternatives to violence.
Mothers in Action Program
A program specifically designed for mothers who have lost a child or loved one to gun violence, as well as mothers working to keep their children safe. This includes peer support groups, wellness resources, and advocacy training to help mothers become voices for change in their communities.
Community Outreach and Education
Public awareness campaigns, school presentations, and community events that educate people about the impact of gun violence and the resources available through LM Safe Futures Initiative. This program also builds partnerships with local organizations, schools, and service providers to strengthen the network of support across Ontario.
